Automation of money transfers and payments in MTS Bank

Since 2021, MTS Bank has initiated a project to create a platform for automating the full cycle of processing money transfers and payments through the MTS Pay payment system. The main problem of the project was the lack of responsible parties and uncoordinated work between various departments of the bank, which led to delays and inefficiencies in the payment and transfer processing.

Task

Develop and implement a platform that would automate the full cycle of processing money transfers and payments, as well as resolve the issue of uncoordinated work between departments and the lack of clear responsibility distribution. It was necessary to ensure seamless support for banking payment agents and simplify the integration of new agents into the system.

The designation of a team of responsible individuals

A specialized team of responsible individuals was created, tasked with coordinating the work of banking payment agents and the bank's internal partners. This allowed for centralized project management and improved communication between various departments

The development and implementation of standard procedures

Standard procedures for coordination and decision-making were developed and implemented to improve the efficiency of interaction between departments and partners. These procedures included clear action algorithms for addressing issues and assigning responsibility for their resolution.

The creation of processes for onboarding new agents

Processes were developed to simplify the procedure for onboarding new banking payment agents. This included the creation of contract templates, the automation of document verification, and the integration of new agents into the system with minimal delays.

The creation of a technical support department

A technical support department was established, responsible for the continuous maintenance and support of banking payment agents. The department ensured the prompt resolution of technical issues and provided consultations for agents.

The development and implementation of services

More than 50 services were implemented for processing payments and transfers, including money transfer services, bill payments, card and e-wallet payment processing, as well as real-time transaction management.

Integration and testing

The platform was integrated with the bank's internal systems and external services of payment agents. Comprehensive testing was conducted, including functional testing, load testing, and integration tests.

Result

The implementation of the payment and transfer automation platform through MTS Pay significantly improved the payment and transfer processing at MTS Bank. The platform ensured uninterrupted support for banking payment agents, simplified the onboarding of new agents, and enhanced coordination between various departments. Thanks to the creation of a specialized team and a technical support department, the bank was able to respond promptly to emerging issues and provide high-quality service to its clients. The implementation of more than 50 services increased the efficiency and reliability of payment processing, contributing to the overall improvement of the bank’s service quality.
